Terms of service

These terms cover your purchase and use of our digital products. We've kept them as plain as we can — but they do matter, so please give them a read.

1. Who we are

The Legacy Library is operated by SQUIGGLE CONSULT LTD, a company registered in England and Wales.

When we say "we", "us" or "our" in these terms, that's who we mean. "You" means the person buying or using our products.

2. What you're buying

Our products are digital downloads — PDF guides, templates and planners about estate planning topics such as wills, lasting powers of attorney, and getting your affairs in order.

Please be clear about what they are and aren't:

  • They are information and self-completion templates, designed to help you understand, plan and organise.
  • They are not legal advice. Buying or using them does not create an adviser–client, solicitor–client or any other professional relationship between you and us.
  • They are written for the law of England and Wales only. If you live in Scotland, Northern Ireland or outside the UK, the rules may be different and our products may not be right for you.
  • Estate planning often involves decisions where proper, personalised advice matters. For anything significant — complex estates, tax planning, blended families, business assets — please get tailored advice from a qualified professional.

3. Your licence to use the products

When you buy a product, you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it. In practice that means:

  • You can: download it, print it, fill it in, and use it for your own personal estate planning (and for helping immediate family within your household).
  • You can't: resell it, share it, give copies away, post it online, redistribute it, or use it for any commercial purpose — including using it with your own clients if you're an adviser. One purchase = one purchaser.

All content remains our intellectual property (or that of our licensors). If you'd like a commercial or multi-user licence, email us — we're happy to talk.

4. Accuracy — and why you should double-check figures

We work hard to keep our products accurate and up to date. But the law, tax thresholds, allowances and official processes change regularly, and a guide you download today reflects the position at the time it was written.

Before relying on any figure, threshold or procedure, please check the current position on gov.uk or with a qualified adviser. We don't guarantee that any product is error-free or reflects the very latest law, and we aren't responsible for decisions you make based solely on our products.

5. Payment and delivery

Prices are shown in pounds sterling (£) at checkout. Products are delivered instantly by download link and email after payment — see our Digital Delivery Policy for the details. Our Return and Refund Policy explains your cancellation and refund rights.

6. Limitation of liability

  • Our total liability to you in connection with any product is capped at the price you paid for that product.
  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses arising from your reliance on a product as a substitute for personalised professional advice.
  • Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

7. Free consultation

From time to time we may invite customers to book a free estate planning consultation with Squiggle Consult. That invitation is exactly that — an invitation, not part of your purchase. Any consultation or subsequent professional service is a separate arrangement on its own terms, and nothing in these terms obliges either of us to enter into one.

8. General

  • If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
  • We may update these terms from time to time; the version in force when you buy is the one that applies to your purchase.
  • These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute (though if you live elsewhere in the UK, you may also be able to bring proceedings in your local courts).
